Who are L&A
Lin & Associates is one of Australia’s most experienced BCA, NatHERS and Basix Consultancies and has been delivering specialist statutory consulting and approval services to the building industry in matters dealing with BASIX and the NCC (BCA), since 1999.

Victor Lin is the founder of Lin & Associates. He has over 40 years of extensive experience in the construction industry across all types of residential and commercial projects. He was awarded the Australian Institute of Building NSW Chapter Medal and in 1999 was one of the first 100 NatHERS assessors to be accredited in Australia. He specializes in providing energy sustainability consultation and solutions to architects and builders across both commercial and residential projects. His knowledge of the construction process allows us to deliver innovative, cost saving solutions to energy efficiency compliance where required.
Victor has completed +7500 NatHERS and BASIX certifications and Section J Assessments for clients since he founded our business.
Ailin Zhang
B.M.Sc (UTS). Cert IV in NatHERS Assessment.
Assessor No: DMN19/1894
Ailin has over 8 years of experience in the NatHERS and BASIX assessment and certification of all kinds of residential projects, including multiple low and high-rise units, greenfields projects and single/duplex dwellings.
Ailin has worked intensively with some of Australia’s largest home builders including Frasers Property (Australand) and delivered many innovative solutions to deliver certifications with minimal cost implications whilst preserving design integrity and ease of construction.
Her qualifications include a Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment, and she is an accredited NatHERS assessor. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Technology, Sydney. Ailin has completed +4000 NatHERS and Basix certifications since she became an accredited assessor.
Louisa Cheng
B App Sci.(Syd). Cert IV in NatHERS Assessment.
Assessor No: DMN19/1928
Louisa has been an assessor with Lin & Associates since 2009. She has worked closely with our project partners and clients to deliver NatHERS, BASIX and Section J, JV3 assessment and certification solutions across all kinds of projects and classes of building.
She is specialized in solving glazing issues with BASIX Alterations and Additions.
Her qualifications include Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment and is an accredited NatHERS Assessor. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Sydney.
