How?
HOW? (Can we do this better than most)
Over 30 years in the construction industry means that we can better understand the design and construction techniques required for your project.
The major consideration encountered by clients requiring a Section J Report is normally determining compliant glazing.
Being experienced NatHERS assessors means that we fully understand solutions that will need to be found to comply with particularly Section J2 – Glazing. We understand how combinations of window Uw and SHGCw values when selected properly can deliver to you the cheapest window combination in order to comply with the BCA. We can discuss and explain these glazing options to you.
Where the design is such that there are no compliant windows available (normally when there is too much “glass” area), we can complete an alternate JV3 assessment to determine if your project can be compliant with the BCA.
If there are still compliance issues, we will advise and discuss with you the best solution to minimize any design concept changes if this becomes necessary.
Section J
A Section J Report is required by all projects under the Building code of Australia (BCA/NCC)
Victor Lin & Associates are in the unique position to be able to offer you the type of experience that will give you the best result when you require a Section J Report or an alternative JV3 assessment for your project. Experience and knowledge can save you $$
We have completed reports for all types of projects ranging from warehouses, medical centres, offices to churches and wineries.
Section JV3
When a design cannot satisfactorily meet the requirements of the “DTS – deemed to satisfy” provisions of the NCC (BCA), an alternative JV3 solution is required.
In many cases, a JV3 solution is the only solution in instances where the glazing solutions required by the “DTS – deemed to satisfy” method are too impractical or expensive. For example: A JV3 solution looks at the building as a whole, and allows other building elements to be thermally improved to reduce the requirements on the problem glazing.
Your existing “DTS -deemed to satisfy” solution is usually used as the basis to the JV3 solution.
